Who is the best NBA three-point shooter besides Steph and Klay? Who will be the two best shooters in the 2019-2020 season now that Klay will be out for likely the majority of the season? Can someone surpass Klay and can anyone ever be better than Steph?

A player definitely can surpass Klay, but no one can ever surpass Steph because he is doing that no one has ever done. He is only 31 years old and can possibly pass Ray Allen within the next few seasons in made threes, needing only 490 more. So who is the contender that can be the next generation three-point shooters besides Klay and Steph?

One that was mentioned as an elite three-point shooter last season after having a breakout could be and should be Buddy Hield. Let’s look at what Buddy Hield has in common with the other great NBA shooter, Klay Thompson.

Hield is actually from the same island that Klay’s father is from, which is the Bahamas, meaning that Hield can be also the best international shooter in the NBA this season…crazy! You probably thought that the best international shooter next year would be from a European country or somewhere in Canada.

The population of this country is only 320,000 people, which makes it interesting how someone can pickup a basketball and represent a small amount of players in a country.

Another NBA player from the Bahamas currently playing in the NBA is the Center for the Suns, Deandre Ayton.

What did Buddy Hield accomplish last year that a majority of great shooters in the NBA didn’t? First, he came out of a small country to be an NBA elite sharp shooter. Second, he was very consistent throughout the season shooting 42% from the three pointer and also amazingly playing all 82 games, while averaging 20 points a game, which is something you don’t see everyday.

Let’s look at an even more impressive stat: Hield only missed a combined two games in three seasons, which would mean that Hield played 244 of the 246 games that he could have possibly played.

So will Hield become the tier of elite shooters in the NBA 2019-2020 season? He should with his ability of durability and consistency of great shooting. Can Hield be the best player on the Kings? He could, as it should be competition on who is the best player on the Kings this season between Hield and De’Aaron Fox.

Kings fans be excited on who is the best player because it is a true competition. Yes, because if Hield becomes something we never thought he would be this season, Fox will have to bring out the big guns and show him that they could be another dynamic duo, possibly.

There is another stat which no one is really talking about, which is in his first three seasons where he accomplished to make 599 threes. The previous record was by Damian Lillard, who is arguably one of the best point guards and shooters in the league.

Does Hield have to follow up with another great season to be considered one of the best shooters in the league?

What Hield can also do is not act as the second fiddle to the Kings next season; he has to be the guy that everyone knew the previous season as the Kings best scorer. It will likely be accomplished with his NBA resume from his previous season, but he will have to do what he just did and follow it up with another elite shooting season while becoming one of the league’s best shooters.

So if this happens next season, can it carry the Kings to a possible playoff contention? Fox and Hield would have to be an elite backcourt for that to happen, which it could, but it has to happen. It should make Kings fans excited that this is their backcourt, because even though it might be young, it is not too young as Hield is 26 and Fox is 21 and both will be one year older and one year more experienced in 2019 of December. This is something that Kings fans and NBA fans can also look forward too.
