Can Kawhi win with anyone? Absolutely, but why? He can win with anyone because he is most capable of doing everything on both ends of the floor. Remember when Kyle Lowry was known as that guy that you couldn’t win a championship with and not even get to make the championship with. The real question is, does Kawhi make every underwhelming player better? Well a bad playoff performing point guard plays slightly better next to a guy that can help you in every way, which Kawhi is.

But why does performance in the playoffs matter before Kawhi arrives to a team?

The next guy, Paul George is now entering town with the LA with the Clippers, and is in need of Kawhi’s presence. The job of George is so much easier next to a guy that can do everything. The thing about the Clippers is that George can play whatever role he needs to play at any time to not get overworked, which is a blessing to George. When healthy, the Clippers bench can feature any lineup, a lineup that will help George relax.

Though George will likely be the number one scorer on the Clips, it will be likelier that the ball will have to be in the hands of George less than it was with him on the Thunder. The problem with the Thunder was George had to work just as hard with the team than he now has to with the Clippers. The Thunder didn’t have key reserves like the Clippers do now. This Clipper’s team is the best team that the franchise has ever had.

Doc Rivers has won a championship before with the Celtics when they were loaded, and though critics do say Rivers can’t win a championship with the Clippers like he did in Boston, the problem is that critics will be seeing one of the better teams that Rivers has ever coached. Remember, Doc can win a championship if his team is stacked and the Celtics old starting five that won a championship in 2007-2008 could have been coached by any coach according to critics. Do we really care how well this Clipper team will be coached? This team shouldn’t be built on great coaching; remember that Nick Nurse isn’t a great NBA coach, it only took him one year to win a championship as a rookie head coach, so Doc doesn’t need to be “Coach Doc” to Kawhi, he just needs to stay back and watch the show happen. There is no question that Doc is getting handed a championship if he is allowed to keep this Clippers team for the next three or so years. Remember Kawhi was so close to signing with the Lakers or going back to the Raptors if the Clippers didn’t get a star in the offseason, but George answered the call. So, if George didn’t go to the Clippers, they wouldn’t have the chance to be contenders, because Kawhi wouldn’t have signed with the Clippers. Let the battle of LA begin!
